Yolanda Gartside - Owner
I started grooming as a teenager to clean up my many rescue dogs; my best friends, and tried to make them look cute. I've always loved animals and always wanted to work with animals. I’ve worked with vets in the past, as well as spent many years breeding and competitively training Siberian Huskies for show in the 70’s and 80’s. I’ve been working as a professional groomer since the early-90’s and started my business in 1996.
My favorite part of grooming is getting to know each individual animals personality as well as the end result, where the dog looks beautiful, the dog is happy and the client is happy. I also love when you know there's a pet that is scared and you're able to calm them down and being able to get through the grooming and then the pet is happy in the end. I pride myself on the fact that unlike most groomers, we do not turn away dogs that are in bad condition or misunderstood and scared. I believe that you're not a true animal lover unless you understand a misunderstood animal and have the heart to take the time to help them.
Jose-Luis -Groomer
I have over seven years experience grooming dogs, I have always been an animal lover and was drawn into pet grooming by Yolanda, she saw my love, and knew this career path would better suit me, she was right!
I enjoy working with animals because they bring me joy and happiness with their unconditional love and kindness. I love working with YMPG because I'm able to help pets that have been rejected by other groomers because of issues related to stress, fear or misunderstanding.
JD - Groomer
I've been grooming often on for the past 24 years. I grew up in my best friends mothers grooming shop, every day after school I would go and her mother would teach me since young child.
I always had a deep passion for animals, when I asked “what do you want to do when you grow up?” “I would always tell people I want to take care of animals!”
My favorite part of being a dog groomer is turning a scruffy dog or a dog in need of some good TLC, into a beautiful piece of artwork, and of course seeing the reaction of how proud the pup is and how much the owner loves the way they look and feel!
Rhea - Groomer
I have been grooming for over 30 years. Grooming was something that really came easy to me and the schedule worked well with raising children in the early years. Being around dogs just makes me happy!
Meet Shelley, my assistant. She’s an incredibly friendly rescue who is my best friend and side kick! She’s always thrilled to welcome any of our clients: people and pets. She can also happily be secluded in the front, if requested by a client for whatever the reason. just ask!
Brooke - Admin
Hello! I’m the face behind the voice you may hear when calling to book an appointment or for payments. I have worked with YMPG for nearly 15 years. I enjoy all the tasks that go along with running an office. From speaking with clients to accounting, billing and system maintenance. The work I do is always fun and interesting! I am also an animal lover, and the proud owner of a tiny Pomeranian named “Kitty.”
